So if i want to run a sequence to all the lights do i daisy chain the data wire and send power to the strips say every 10 meters from the same power source on separate wires? Updated — and yes, you can daisy chain data wire and have separate power. It really just depends on the exact situation: My guess is that 10 meters is probably too far apart to get results, though it depends on the copper thickness on the strip that you have. You might get away with 10 meters if you do this. You are going to need some hefty wire to deal with the voltage drop as you are pushing a lot of power through it. A quick calculation says that 5 meters of the strip takes 15 amps of power. You can find some wire resistance calculators online that will help you with this, but my ballpark guess is that you will need 10 gauge wire if you power at both ends. IIRC, the ws is constant current so voltage drop might not be that bad, but you’ll want to experiment.
Solderless Connector for LED strip light install guide
You know, it used to be that I never gave a lot of thought to lighting but I feel differently about that now, especially here in this room, the kitchen because this is a social gathering spot and a workplace. That means we need one kind of lighting for ambience and a different kind to work by. And there’s been one spot in this kitchen where I’ve never really been happy with the light, and that’s right up here underneath these cupboards. So today, I’m going to install some undercabinet lighting of a brand new type.
Now this is the lighting fixture that I’m going to use today.
Aftermarket LED headlights automatically give any car a unique appearance and also make driving on the road much safer.
Most folks simply went with linear fluorescent lights LFLs — and for good reason. They have quality light output, are one of the most efficient light sources available, and have decent lifespans. That being said, now there is a new player in the commercial lighting arena that promises even better efficiency: Tell us about your fluorescent lighting application and we will suggest an LED alternative!
To help you decide, take a look at some of the benefits of T8 LEDs: This makes them safe for the environment. Dimmable — Many LEDs have full dimming capabilities, whereas fluorescents are expensive to dim and do so poorly. Directional Lighting — LEDs offer directional light illumination exactly where you need it. On the other hand, fluorescents have multi-directional light, which means some light is lost in the fixture and other unnecessary places.
Works Well with Controls — Fluorescent lights tend to burn out faster when integrated with occupancy sensors and other controls. With linear fluorescent, you either had to specially order shatterproof fluorescent lamps or use a tube guard which was costly.

If you have a porch light that’s shielded from the elements, you may be able to insert a socket adapter that places a power socket between the fixture and the lamp.
LED light strips are a versatile way to add illumination or highlight an object. You can add LED lighting to cabinets or cars or purchase strips designed for specific objects, such as LED dog collar strips or an ArtSkills light-up poster frame kit. The process for hooking up LED light strips varies a bit depending on where you’re hooking up the strips and your installation preferences, but with the right materials, you can hook them up in about an hour.
Mark the Area Start by checking out the area where you plan to install the LED light strips, and determine the path of the strips and appropriate power source locations. Prepare the area as necessary for the wiring. For example, if you plan to install the strips underneath a cabinet , drill any holes now. You may also want to mark the location of the strips with a pencil so you know exactly where to install them later.
Cut the LED Light Strips Use a tape measure to measure the area where you plan to install the strips and make sure the strips are the correct length. If not, cut the strips to the right length. LED light strips typically have segments, and you can cut between any segments. Use a utility knife or a pair of scissors to cut the strips. Connect the Strips to a Power Source Turn off the power source you’re using for the strips. Connect the wires from the power source to the wires on the strips.

There are two sides to the connecting tray — make sure the wider of the white sides faces up. This is the top. Make sure the soldering pads fully touch the conjunction metal.
