Generally, in the terms of jurisprudence it is highly recommended, but in many cases due to extraordinary circumstances, it becomes obligatory and a religious duty. For instance, marriage becoming obligatory when there is a chance of adultery or any other similar sin. The Holy Prophet SAW said,”The best people of my Umma are those who get married and have chosen their wives and the worst people of my nation are those who have kept away from marriage and are passing their lives as bachelors.
As one matures physically, sexual desires develop in the individual and gradually both girls and boys start getting attracted to each other, which slowly develops into some sort of psychological pressure. This natural and undirected emotion gradually seeks solace in whatever form possible. Unfortunately more often than not, it results in the youngsters deviating from the right path and indulging in some unwanted and undesired habits.
Before becoming victims of ill-directed lust, it is better for them to get married and settle down. Therefore, the leaders of Islam have advised their followers to follow this most important Sunnah. Imam Sadiq AS narrates that one day the Holy Prophet SAW went on the pulpit and said,”O people, Jibraeel has brought unto me a divine command stating that girls are like fruits from a tree.
If they are not plucked in time then they get rotten by the rays of the sun and a slight blow of the wind will result in their falling down from the tree. Similarly, when girls attain maturity, then like other women they develop emotions related to sex and there is no cure for it except her husband. If they are not married, prevention of character corruption becomes a remote possibility because after all they are human beings and no human is free from vice.
In yet another tradition from Mustadrakul Wasail it is narrated that”When a youngster marries early in his youth, Shaitaan cries out of desperation and says, Alas! This person has protected one third of his religion, now he will protect the remaining two thirds also.

The following are answers to some of the most common questions that ING and its affiliates across the country have encountered in that time. These answers reflect the fact that Islamic teachings are the product of a dynamic conversation among Muslim scholars and between the scholars and the laity who apply their best understanding of the primary sources of Islam rather than a fixed set of laws and regulations.
This points to the fact that Islam, like all religions, does not live or speak apart from the people who practice it. There is therefore no monolithic Islam, since, like any other religion, Islam exists only as it is understood and practiced by its adherents. As in other faith traditions, Muslim scholars have developed varied positions and responses to the numerous questions and issues that have been raised and discussed over the past years in the various lands where Islam is practiced.
These perspectives and resulting practices differ partly because of the diversity within the Muslim community in geography, ethnicity, culture, and age. There are about 50 countries in the world today with a majority Muslim population, each having its own distinct history and culture or multiplicity of cultures. And there are sizeable Muslim minorities in many other countries, including the United States and virtually all the countries of Europe, that are living Islam in their own unique situations.
These Muslim communities likewise have a variety of cultures and histories and live in varied social, cultural, and political circumstances, all producing significant variety in the way that they understand and live out Islam. Therefore, it is important to be clear that the answers to the following questions reflect the views of the American Muslim scholars that ING has worked with. In other words, we do not speak for or on behalf of all Muslims.

Remember the ultimate Muslim belief: His laws on interaction and dignity are priority throughout. Single Muslims are introduced through friends, family, mosque networking. These days there are new and interesting ways to meet people which families are becoming more accustomed to; halal marriage sites, matchmaking individuals, social events.
Two single Muslims meet for a Halal date within preset boundaries by Islamic law. No, you wouldn’t want to meet a guy in a dim lit alley and no, you wouldn’t meet a stranger off the internet. Not even in large groups or parties. Shariah law allows a man and woman to be in a room with the door open so that someone can hear just outside, or to meet in a cafe that is public and open. The idea is that a single Muslim gets to ‘sense’ the other person without pressure from relatives and without losing modesty hayaa.
Family and society approval is not the end all of Muslim marriage.
Yet, often there are matrimonial ads placed by a woman or her family seeking a ‘professional man’ or a man of specific ethnic or national origin.
